On Monday June 27th through Wednesday June 29th, the Human Cell Atlas consortium organized the 2022 general meeting – in hybrid form with a large number of participants gathering in Vienna in the beautiful Palais Niederosterreich, welcomed by the host Christoph Bock. Participants who could not attend physically connected remotely. The discovAIR consortium was well represented at this meeting, and the coordinator Martijn Nawijn was on the organizing committee for this meeting.

On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 June, the final discovAIR progress meeting took place at the Institute of Computational Biology of the Helmholtz Center in Munich. It was very interactive meeting with enthusiastic discussion of the results and plans for further analyses to increase their impact. This meeting concludes a very successful project that led to the launch of the first version of the Human Lung Cell Atlas!

On 11 March 2022 the discovAIR consortium officially launched the Human Lung Cell Atlas (HLCA) during the ERS Lung Science Conference in Estoril, Portugal. Malte Lücken (Helmholtz Center Munich) introduced the HLCA during his presentation and showed the potential of the atlas. During the coffee breaks and poster sessions, interested people could try out HLCA.

On Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 November 2021 we had our first physical discovAIR project meeting since March 2019. Representatives of all project partners including colleagues from outside the project participated in this two-day meeting in Leiden, Netherlands. The meeting was a great success, not only because of the very interesting lectures but also because of the interaction and discussion among the participants during the breaks!
